Beam NG – Utah
I’ve had Beam NG in my Steam library for over a year now, but I haven’t found much reason to play it. Over the weekend, I fired it up to check the progress on this early access title and I’m happy to report that things are looking good. The most prominent improvement is the UI. It’s intuitive, slick, and full of neat little options. My favorite is the gravity slider right now.
In the process of crashing cars in and around the beautiful new Utah environment (which is generally the point of Beam NG), I was inspired to capture some footage using Shadowplay. My GTX 770is chugging these days, but it came out decent enough. This challenged me to have some fun with manual camera panning, slow motion, and crash set-ups. There are a lot of great Beam NG compilations out there, but I think this one is pretty neat too. I thought long and hard about the soundtrack I wanted to accompany this video, and I think the result is a fitting track. Enjoy some slow motion crashes set to Photay’s Reconstruct.
